About RippinShitters

John Buchas started the rippin shitters account as a staff sergeant on HMH-462’s Okinawa UDP 23-2 with SSgt Joseph McDonnell. The goal was to motivate the Marines in the unit and boost morale. They wanted to show the guys how cool their job was if you had the right mindset about it. This proved to be a successful campaign as the Screw Crew recorded record numbers for retention that year. After that, they knew they had to keep it going. Here we are years later continuing to motivate not only the Marines of 462, but Marines and Sailors across the world. It’s what keeps us going day in and day out. The goal is to keep the guys and girls motivated through those long days, late nights, and weekends. Keep pushing devils!
